The owners of this project brought us “permit ready” plans for a rather extensive addition to the front of their home. They labored over these plans with another design firm for years only to find that the scope of work exceeded their investment preference. We went to work by redefining the goals of the project and identified a new budget. We proposed several design alternatives that substantially reduced adding new square footage to the structure. The end result moved the kitchen from the front of the house, to one that faces their backyard sanctuary. We reworked the entry way, creating a formal home for the piano and an enlarged space for dining and family gatherings. The completed home addition project left behind upgraded finishes that blend seamlessly with the previous finishes, giving this house new life and a completely remodeled feel.
